Bio
Amira Hegazy is a classically trained artist with a specific affinity for printmaking and drawing. She explores themes of identity in her work including place, family, and the tendency for identity to be shaped by opposing forces as it is constantly in flux. She strives to continually have new experiences through travel and the pursuit of knowledge. Her most recent work is highly influenced by sociological theories of identity and her own sociological research into Egyptian culture and art. Aside from art and sociology Amira is interested in bookmaking, writing poetry, mindfulness, international travel, political theory, and adventuring. She is co-founder and Print Director at Statement Letterpress and Design.
